meagan came to piano sideways, which she'll tell you if you ask. she never took lessons as a kid, and she started for real three years ago, working through the sheet music her youngest was abandoning after his own lessons. she is not a performer and says so plainly. what she's good at is understanding why the notation says what it says, which is the part beginners actually need. she teaches because she remembers being forty and embarrassed about starting late, and she doesn't think anyone should feel dumb about it. she runs a quiet room, watches hands more than she talks, and treats late starters like capable adults who just missed a class.
