Privacy

We keep data collection to the minimum a small community-education program needs to run classes. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Browsing. Standard server logs and analytics (pages viewed, general region) to understand what the community uses.
• Member accounts. If you register to audit classes, we store your email address and, optionally, a first name. We use a signed browser cookie to keep you signed in. No password is stored.
• Things you send us. Notes you write to an instructor, class suggestions, and which classes you audit, so we can follow up and plan future sessions.
• Class accounts. A display name and the class you are enrolled in, so you can post on your class board.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on the site. We choose the most privacy-preserving option on cookie and consent settings by default.

Email

When you have an account we send a few emails: a note confirming your account, a receipt when you audit a class or message an instructor, and an optional short update when a class you audit gets new posts. We use a third-party email provider to deliver them. You can turn class-update emails off from your account or the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, and we do not use your address for advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your account information at any time by emailing hello@thisutahlife.com. Public posts you have made may be removed on request, subject to the ordinary record-keeping a class board needs.
