Brent didn't come to photo editing as a photographer. He came to it because he takes a lot of pictures of his projects, the router setups, the tomato plants, the half-built things in the garage, and for years they just sat on his phone doing nothing.
The turn came when his wife wanted a photo book made of a family reunion up the canyon and he got the job of cleaning the pictures up. One Saturday morning with a free app and he was hooked. He says it scratches the same itch as woodworking: small adjustments, immediate feedback, no ego required.
He's not an artist and says so. He's a guy who likes making a thing slightly better than it was.
