Brenda McMillian started writing in 2017 after her mother's letters turned up in a shoebox, and she couldn't stand the thought of the next generation not knowing who those people were. She began copying them out, then writing her own bits alongside.
The journaling-for-clarity part came later, mostly by accident, after a hiking blog she reads mentioned morning pages and she tried it to complain onto paper before a shift. It helped, and she's been at it since.
Brenda isn't precious about any of it. She keeps a cheap notebook by the coffee maker, misses days without ceremony, and thinks anyone selling you a system is selling you a system.
