my saturdays feel so empty now lol but heres a garden update
okay so the veggie gardening class is officially over and honestly im a little sad about it, i looked forward to zooming in every saturday morning with my coffee lol. anyway update on my raised bed situation since thats what i actually did with the info!!
my zucchini is going absolutely feral, like i mentioned that thing about spacing them out more at altitude and i did NOT listen and now i have two plants basically fighting each other for real estate 🫠. but my carrots are actually coming up which feels like a personal win bc ive killed carrots before.
the fail of the week is my basil, i thought i hardened it off enough before putting it outside and a random cold snap just wrecked half of it. logan keeps asking why i have sad basil corpses on the porch lol.
anyone else still doing stuff with what we learned?? kinda hoping they run a fall session bc i feel like i just started getting good at this. missing the class ngl ✨
Ha, feral zucchini is basically a rite of passage lol. mine did the same thing my first year. gonna miss the Saturday zooms too, honestly. anyone hear if theres a fall session?? my tomatoes could use the help 😂🤙
Brenden, feral zucchini really is the badge of honor around here, mine did the same the first year I planted it... Nothing on a fall session yet, I'll post the minute I know. Enjoy those Saturday mornings off, you earned them
Honestly kind of miss the 9am Zoom already. My tomatoes are fine, my carrots never came up at all. Fall session would be great.
Courtney, carrots not sprouting is usually the soil crusting over before tehy can push through, mine did the same my second year. bummer about the tomatoes though wait carrots not tomatoes lol. hope theres a fall session for sure
Courtney my carrots did nothing either 😠so at least you're not alone. missing those saturdays fr
Taylor's right on the money, Courtney, that soil crust is the usual culprit, a light straw cover or a daily mist while they germinate fixes it. Kami, you're in good company. Missing the Saturday coffee crew too.
