Terry is a school counselor in Utah County who started learning ASL at work, when a student who was hard of hearing needed a few words in the in-between moments the interpreter couldn't always cover. He picked up enough to be useful, then kept going because it turned out to be fun. Now he signs with his own three kids at home, mostly to be a goof, and the youngest corrects him regularly.
He'll tell you straight up he isn't fluent and isn't Deaf. He's a practical-starting-point guy who runs the room like a porch, not a lecture, and points you toward Deaf instructors when you're ready for more.
