Helps people write code for real problems, not theory

Taylor Clayton is a working photographer who backed into coding sideways. After one too many nights hand-renaming thousands of image files, somebody told him to "just write a little script," and he doesn't like being told something's beyond him. He's fully self-taught, learned on free tools, and still looks up syntax every single time, which he says is the actual job, not cheating. He teaches this class because he likes a room and he likes the "oh, that's all it is" moment on people's faces. He's friendly, a little dry, and treats a broken program as the good part. His first script once deleted 399 files, so he remembers what beginning feels like.

What Taylor teaches
