Google Sheets for Small Business Owners
Sooo if you're running a small business off a napkin and a bad memory, this class is for you. We're gonna build three things that actually earn their keep: an inventory tracker, a one-page invoice, and a simple dashboard that tells you what's going on at a glance.
This assumes you've touched a spreadsheet before. You don't need to be good at it. You just need to know where the cells are.
We build ugly first and make it pretty last. We use SUM, a lookup, and conditional formatting, and we skip the fancy stuff you'd just break later.
You'll leave with real sheets you can use Monday morning, not homework. Snacks provided. ❤️
What you'll learn
- Build a linked system of tracking sheets
- Calculate margins, markup, and percentages quickly
- Write formulas for lookups and auto-totals
- Set up color-coded alerts for stock and payments
- Create and export a professional invoice as PDF
Lessons
- Getting Set Up Without the Overwhelm
We get comfortable in Google Sheets and plan our sheets before we build a single thing.
- Formulas That Actually Earn Their Keep
The small handful of formulas that do ninety percent of the work for a small business.
- Building the Inventory Tracker
We build a working tracker that tells you what you have and what you're running low on.
- Conditional Formatting, My Favorite Thing
Cells that turn red when you're low on stock do more work than any chart.
- The One-Page Invoice
We build a clean, simple invoice you can send today with no fancy stuff.
- A Simple Dashboard and Wrapping Up
