Anyone's rice cooker die on them mid-recipe?

Mine did once, right in the middle of a dinner I'd planned entirely around it. Had to finish it on the stovetop from memory. It worked out but my heart rate did not love it. If a tool failed on you this week and you had to improvise, tell me what you did.

mine hasnt died mid recipe but the lid latch is getting loose so it just hisses steam out the whole time now lol... havent replaced it bc braden keeps saying "it still works" which, sure, technically it's not wrong. anyway kimchi basics last week made me wanna just go buy a whole separate fridge just for it, not even kidding :)
