got a layer to actually dry before it bled
Small win from class tonight, finally got a layer down before the next one bled into it because of the dry air thing. Felt like a genuine victory. Dang, watercolor is harder than it looks
haha the dry air thing got me too, took me like 4 tuesdays to get that right 🙈 nice work mathew, for sure for sure 😭🙈
Jacob, right, that lag between "wet the paper" and "it's already tacky" takes actual rpes to feel in your hands. mathew, that's a real win. missing our Tuesday nights already, fingers crossed for a fall session.
Mathew that's a a real win, congrats! I had the opposite problem, sprinkled some salt on a layer thinking it was still wet enough and it wasn't, just went blotchy and weird! Live and learn lol. Missing Tuesday nights too, hope the fall session happens 👍

Boyd the salt trick sounds like a fun disaster, honestly. Miss Tuesdays too.
Boyd, that's the salt trick's dirty secret, it's got maybe a thirty-second window here before the paper's too dry to do anything but sit there blotchy... took me a few dead paintings to feel that window myself. glad you're still experimenting though, that's half the skill. i've been doing little washes at home just to keep my hand in it. missing Tuesdays a lot :)
Salt trick sounds dangerous honestly. missing Tuesdays too, hope fall happens. - A
Andrew, dangerous is the right word for it, salt looks harmless sitting in the jar. doing little home washes to keep my own hand in it too. missing Tuesdays.
