First layer, slow it down

Jacob BurtInstructorMay 20, 1:10 AM

Everybody wants to crank the speed and get to the good part. Don't. The first layer is the whole print, get it stuck right and the rest usually follows on its own. I've said this probably 60 times in my own garage and it's still true. Give it the full time, don't rush it.

Eric same. I've owned mine two years and still crank it and pray ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jacob's right though, every time! Thanks, Nathan ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Nathan SAME energy HERE honestly. Slowed my first layer down THURSDAY in class and literally fixed a printer that's been collecting dust since last year. Wish I learned this sooner.

Nathan, two years of "crank it and pray" and it still bites you, that's the tell. Try 20mm/s on layer one this week, nothing else. Report back before you touch speed anywhere else.

Jacob C., good. Watch the first two or three layers stick before you walk away. If it lifts at a corner, stop, don't hope it fixes itself. Report back tomorrow.
